Any indian citizen (except NRI) can buy agricultural lands in karnataka and can covert it for residential use (if it lies in residential zone) or industrial use (if it lies in industrial zone) or Commercial Activity (if it lies in commercial zone) as per the Zonal regulations of the Town Planning Authority.
The buyer need not be a farmer and the non-agriculture income limits stands withdrawn and the appropriate section will be repealed.
The latest development will pave way for industrial development and the agricultural sector will get impetus from the investors.

But, It is not notified yet. The notification is awaited. There is some political kismis is going on. But, there are some adverse effects for this amendment. Education is not holding a Degree and agriculture is not an easy occupation. It appears very easy and simple on the internet, in reality, it is different.
