7 year jail term proposed for wrong or false information for property registration in Madhya Pradesh

The state government of Madhya Pradesh will soon bring amendments in the Registration of Property Act to ensure 7-year jail for those who give false information for property registration, said a news report.
The proposal will be sent to president for ratification. If any information is found wrong during registration of property, then registrar or the deputy registrar can file FIR against the accused.
The punishment may lead to both jail term and fine. The wrong information includes registering commercial land as residential, giving false map, providing false documents.
State Finance Minister Jayant Malaiya said that the proposal is being sent to Centre for necessary permission and will be implemented strictly.
