GOOGLE IS FACING ANTITRUST INVESTIGATION BY COMPETITION COMMISSION OF INDIA

Google is facing antitrust investigation in India by fair trade watchdog CCI (COMPETITION COMMISSION OF INDIA) for violating competition norms of the country and if found to have violated the competition norms of the country could be slapped with penalty of up to 10 per cent of its three-year annual average turnover.

In the case of Google its annual revenues in the last three years amounts to a staggering USD 49.3 billion and the maximum penalty can be up to nearly USD 5 billion. (if deviation or illegality or violation is found out and proved)

IT IS BELIEVED THAT THE INTERNET SEARCH PROVIDER MAY BE PENALISED.
