The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has suo motu issued notices to all the agencies involved in the upkeep of the heavily polluted Bellandur lake following the most recent outbreak of fire. The matter is listed for Wednesday and NGT has asked for a plan of action from the agencies regarding controlling pollution in the lake, sources said.
The Bangalore Development Authority (custodian of the lake), the civic body (in-charge of storm water drains and alleged to have failed to check the dumping of waste into the lake), BWSSB for letting in untreated sewage into the lake, KSPCB and KLCDA in-charge of lakes in the city, have been served notices.
Bangalore experiences the DEMOLITION of illegal structures and it is said that the RICH AND MIGHTY have escaped it. But, they cannot escape, they will be treated badly, much worse than the other.
Cheating, Fraud, Misrepresentation of facts, False documentations, Bogus Claims, Fake Documents, Fabricated documents, Clearances from Govt Departments obtained by misrepresentation and TALL CLAIMS, makes `BUILDER`.
Whenever there is a serious issue, the developer approaches the COURTS for temporary remedy and the buyer thinks that the temporary remedy is PERMANENT.
Toooooooooooooo many buildings have been built illegally and the sellers are promising the buyers that it can be REGULARISED BY
AKRAMA-SAKRAMA, but it is not TRUE, that all the ILLEGAL AND IRREGULAR STRUCTURES AND BUILDINGS CANNOT BE REGULARISED.
Finally, the KSPCB, has woken up to the woes of the BELLANDUR LAKE FROTH and inspected some of the apartment complexes and industries, which were draining their untreated toxic effluents and discharge into the raja kaluve and to the lake and instituted 14 Criminal cases and have issued few (selected few) show cause notices to the violators.
Most of the sewage and untreated effluents flows into this lake is mainly from apartment complexes surrounding this lake area. It is to be noted that many of the complexes are not constructed as per the sanctioned plan and does not have SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS and the few ones, which have the STP units does not function properly and the rest does not function at all.
Some of the STP units exist for the sake of approval, but they never function and some does not treat the sewage at all.
