The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has resumed its demolition drive against encroachments on Storm Water Drains, will continue on Friday and Saturday.
BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad said that a survey has been undertaken in more than 36 locations to identify encroachments on SWDs and added that only those encroachments that are directly linked to flooding will be targeted. Approximately 246 survey numbers and around 1,000 buildings located in 18 ‘villages’ have been earmarked for demolitions, near lakes, in Bellandur, Yelahanka, Bommanahalli, Dasarahalli, Gavipura and Mathikere, will be identified for demolition.
