HOYSALA & KELADI CHENNAMMA BRAVERY AWARDS FOR CHILDREN
On the occasion of the Children’s Day, the Department of Women and Child Development confers Bravery Award every year for the Children who have exhibited exceptional courage and presence of mind to save the life of others in dangerous circumstances. The following children have been selected for the Hoysala and Keladi Chennamma Bravery Award for the year 2014-15.

On.29.05.2014 Deekshith and his uncle’s 5years old son Shrijan were playing. A dog attacked Shrijan. He was afraid and started running. He fell into a 25 feet pit in front of his house which was dug for drinking water. Deekshith with his presence of mind saved Shrijan from drowning. |

On.10.10.2013 during the Dasara Vacation 15 school children went for a picnic. During noon they were playing in the pond. Suddenly Tharun and Yashas were drowning and they shouted loudly. Seeing them crying for help Kishen without caring for his life jumped into the pond and saved his friends. |

As her husband had committed suicide, She along with her two children wanted to commit suicide. On 26.03.2014 evening she went to Alamatti Dam. As water was not visible she put both her children on the railway track. Her saree got entangled to the wheel of the train and she died on the spot. As both the children were laid parallel to the track they escaped unhurt. Though his mother had died, Master Sumith courageously carried his 8 month old brother, crossed the dam and informed the people about the incident. With great courage he saved not only his life but also his brother’s life. |

On 13.01.2014 a tractor filled with heavy load of sugarcane toppled in Thodalabagi and 9 people died on the spot. The sugarcane fell on the people and they were bleeding and shouting for help. Kum. Poornima seeing them cry for help pulled out the sugar cane piled upon them. She also called nearby people and with their help saved the injured people. |

District level adventure sports meet for children was organized on 21.02.2014 to 23.02.2014 at Kunthi Hill, Pandavapura Taluq, Mandya Distirct. While getting down from the hill, Prajwal slipped and was about to fall from the hill. Anoop and his brother Swaroop extended their hand and pulled him up and saved Prajwal’s life. |

While getting down from the hill Prajwal slipped and was about to fall from the hill. Swaroop and his brother Anoop extended their hand and pulled him up and saved Prajwal’s life. |

On 15.10.2014 suddenly a cheetah attacked two boys Doreswamy and Bellayya and injured them. Seeing this Appu threw stone at the cheetah, injured it and chased it away and saved the life of these two boys. |

On 01.12.2013 Kum Shanthi was studying in the verandah of her house. Rohith studying in 3rd Standard accidentally fell into the pond near her house and started shouting for help. Hearing him shouting for help Shanthi took out a big stick from the fence of the pond and pointed it towards Rohith. Rohith held onto the stick and was pulled out. Shanthi gave him first aid and with her presence of mind saved Rohith. |

On 05.06.2014 the students of Shree Mahanteshwara Eglish High School participated in world Environment Day and were returning home in the school bus. The bus carrying 15 to 20 students met with an accident at Kudur cross, Solur Hobli. Master Sahanesh pulled out 15 to 16 children from the bus and saved them. |
