FINALLY, THE BBMP COMMISSIONER HAS ISSUED THE CIRCULAR REGARDING THE COLLECTION OF BETTERMENT CHARGES FOR THE DC CONVERTED SITES WITHIN BBMP JURISDICTION.

DC CONVERTED PROPERTIES WITHIN BBMP JURISDICTION CAN PAY BETTERMENT CHARGES AND GET KATHA FOR THE FULL EXTENT.

  1. Whether its applicable for Individual divided sites also or undivided DC converted land only? if this is only for the second one then the common man like me will not be befitted.

  2. I guess what it means is that you can pay betterment and obtain an A khata for the entire extent of land appurtenant to a particular layout if it has been dc converted.(not sure how it’ll help site owners of a divided layout.). the other beneficiary I guess are owners holding land in gunta or acres who have got their land converted by DC who can now obtain A khata for their land( I thought this facility already existed).

  4. As per Deccan Herald it is for sub-divided DC converted land and the paper mentions amount to be paid for 1200 sft and 2400 sft sites. There can’t be such confusion on a topic that is in the news for years. BBMP could not hope to get hundreds of crores in betterment if it was just for the ENTIRE extent. Ecopak has been (wrongly) of the ‘opinion’ that it is for FULL EXTENT of DC converted land. Let us get to the circular.

        We spoke to the DC Revenue and sought the clarification and he clearly stated that it is applicable for single property(DC Converted) and not the sub divided sites of DC Conversion order.

        Read the circular thoroughly.

As per the circular, divided sites in DC converted layout without layout approval but with building plan approval from BDA are eligible to pay betterment( as if they were given the authority to sanction building plans is such layout ).However from what i assume BDA may now be given the authority to sanction building plans in such layout, so people can get one and become eligible to pay betterment fee. its all ambiguous, need to wait and see how it all pans out.

    1. There is no confusion. It is clear. DC Converted properties, (full extent) where BDA has sanctioned building plans are eligible(like multistory residential apartments), if it has Occupancy Certificate.
      All other illegal, irregular,unlawful and dangerous buildings have to wait for Akrama-Sakrama, which may, in all the probability will reach the Supreme Court of India for the final call.
