Does it mean, BBMP can start collecting the BBMP charges?
The property owners had approached the court about the differential rate of betterment levy based on the sizes. This order is quashed and the BBMP has to formulate or come up with a uniform levy. Wait.
So apartment builders still have to wait for the BBMP to decide the rate? How long do you think this would take?
To obtain all the clearances, the builders have to pay it even before beginning the construction and will have no impact on the rates. Even, otherwise, do you think, they will give the best price on a platter? They are here to make the maximum profits.
Thanks for the update; Does this mean that smaller sites carved out of a big dc converted land will be eligible for Khata ?
The High court termed the differential rate for different sizes as arbitrary and directed the BBMP to evolve a uniform rate. But, we do not have any details of kathas for dc converted sites. The BBMP needs money, may resort to a new tactics to collect it.
