To a certain extent it is man made disaster or self destruction in the name of development.
Environmental hazards and warnings are ignored in the name of development and this calamity was waiting to happen. This occurrence is not new and has been happening in regular intervals. But, We were not aware of it. Due to the technological development, the communication is reaching us fast in this century.
Nature does not know the human and local laws.
This proverb is close to reality:
