It is learnt that the State Government of Karnataka has proposed to double the existing property taxes for the unauthorised constructions or buildings and the buildings which have violated the sanctioned plans or by laws, till its demolition or regularisation.
Payment of this double tax does not confer any right, title and interest to the owner of the property nor does it is regularised.
After the famous Campa Cola of Mumbai and Maradu of Kochi, the eyes have turned red and the High Court Of Karnataka has directed the BBMP to come up with all the illegal and unauthorised constructions within its jurisdictions and the action plan to remove them. It is further observed that the complainants name and address should be confidential.
Few sellers /owners assert or say that they have
A katha for their illegal properties. A katha without proper approvals or not constructed as per the sanctioned plan is void or invalid. Therefore, A katha does not regularise illegality.
Akrama-Sakrama is still in limbo.
